Join us for the closing of “Para Un Muro Ensimismado,” Mexican contemporary artist Betsabeé Romero’s temporary art installation. During her Phoenix residency April 3-10, Romero collaborated with Arizona artists to create a site-specific project connecting global histories of migration and power.

Join us as we share what we learned during the inaugural Dance in the Desert: A Gathering of Latinx dancemakers working in Arizona and beyond. The Community Share out will include feedback from participating artists and arts leaders, a brief synopsis of research conducted, and a short dance performance.

The Arizona Commission on the Arts is inviting teen creatives to join the AZ Youth Arts Council to ensure that Arizona’s youth perspective is heard in arts programming and policy. We are seeking creative young people between the ages of 14 and 19 who have an interest in the arts and represent Arizona’s 15 counties.

Join us for the second in a series of free webinars presented by Dance in the Desert 2020. This installment offers a grantmakers perspective on what works and what doesn’t when it comes to dancemaker work samples.
Presented by Kristin Gregory (Program Manager, Dance) and Cheri Opperman (Grants Manager, Dance) of New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA).
This online instructional resource is offered free of charge, but advance registration is required.

You’re a creative, passionate, community-minded Arizonan, age 14-19.
AZ Youth Arts Council Members Will…
- Learn about policy to advocate for equal access to the arts for all young people in Arizona
- Advise the Arts Commission on grant programs and initiatives that directly affect young people
- Administer a Youth Engagement Grant in their community
- Review issues related to arts and culture programs and services for young people
- Create arts and media projects highlighting the arts in their communities
- Receive a stipend of up to $800
Applications must be submitted by August 15, 2021.
