A pair of AZ ArtWorker events have been scheduled for February 2016. Launched in August 2015 through a grant from the Emily Hall Tremaine Foundation, AZ ArtWorker facilitates dialogue and knowledge-sharing between Arizona artists, their national and international artist peers, and residents of Arizona communities.

AZ ArtWorker: Tucson – Artist Entrepreneur Workshop

On February 20-21, the Arts Commission will partner with Tucson Pima Arts Council and ASU’s Pave Program in Arts Entrepteneurship to present a two-day workshop with Dr. Linda Essig.

Participants will learn how to develop a more entrepreneurial approach to their creative practice and will receive a free copy of the Arizona Arts Entrepreneur Toolkit–a comprehensive collection of digital tools designed to help artists support the business side of their practice. A $75 value, the toolkit will be included in the cost of registration for each participant.

AZ ArtWorker: Phoenix – Asantewa Sunni-Ali

On Wednesday, February 24, 2016, the Arts Commission, in partner ship with ASU Performance in the Borderlands and Black Theatre Troupe, will present a thought-provoking workshop with Asantewa Sunni-AliSolo Performance: Pathway to Radical Self and Community Reimagination.

Through storytelling, creative writing, and Image Theatre exercises participants will create liberating stories that question dominant paradigms and reclaim community narratives.
