KJZZ, Phoenix’s NPR station, and its project Fronteras: The Changing America Desk, recently joined the Public Insight Network, an interesting news experiment, that puts your experiences and perspective to work in telling a news story. The following is an invitation from Fronteras News Desk reporter, Nick Blumberg, for you to join the Public Insight Network. When you join the network, you’ll get to share your arts and culture expertise, insights, and ideas, and make yourself available as a source for their team of reporters. Recent Arts and Culture news stories published by the Fronteras News Desk can be found here.

Public Insight Journalist Nick Blumberg (Phoenix) has served as an Associate Producer for KJZZ’s Here and Now, a news and public affairs talk show covering the Phoenix area. He grew up on the far North Side of Chicago, and has been a news junkie as long as he can remember. He moved to Arizona to attend the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University, graduating magna cum laude.

Are there stories in your community that the media aren’t covering? Do you want to share your expertise and experiences with journalists? KJZZ, Phoenix’s NPR station, and its Fronteras regional news network want you to be a source. As part of a project called the Public Insight Network, KJZZ and Fronteras are recruiting as many and as wide a variety of people as possible to serve as resources for their reporters.

Joining the Network requires very little effort—just fill out one or both of these forms, telling KJZZ what you know more about than most people or what stories you think are being missed. Every now and then, KJZZ will reach out to update you about the stories they’re working on, and sometimes to ask you for help with a specific story. They’ll send you about an email a month at most.

Joining the network also puts you in direct contact with Nick Blumberg, Public Insight Journalist for KJZZ and the Fronteras project. Nick serves as a conduit for members of the community with questions, concerns, and/or ideas. If you have questions, you can reach him at [email protected]. Help KJZZ and Fronteras improve their journalism. Become a source today!
