New Report: Arts and Culture Contribute $9 Billion to Arizona’s Economy

According to new data released on March 6, 2018, by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) and the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), Arizona’s arts and culture industries contribute $9 Billion to the state’s economy, employing 90,000 Arizonans who earned a combined $4.9 Billion in Fiscal Year 2015, contributing more to the State’s economy than mining, agriculture, and forestry combined.

Arts Commission Awards Research and Development Grants to 18 Arizona Artists

The Arizona Commission on the Arts is pleased to announce the recipients of the Artist Research and Development Grants for Fiscal Year 2018. This year, thanks to the state’s continued additional investment in the arts for the current fiscal year, 18 Arizona artists received an award of up to $5,000 in funding—seven more than were awarded funding in 2016.

Jaime Dempsey Receives Gabe Zimmerman Public Service Award

On July 20, 2017, the Center for the Future of Arizona awarded the 2017 Gabe Zimmerman Award for Public Service in the emerging leader category to Jaime Dempsey, Deputy Director of the Arizona Commission on the Arts, an agency of the State of Arizona. The honors were presented at a luncheon on Thursday, July 20, 2017, at the Arizona City/County Management Association Summer Conference.
