The City of Surprise invites Arizona-based artists or artist teams to submit qualifications to create a basketball court mural at the new Community Pool park located at Perryville and Cactus roads. West Valley artists are strongly encouraged to apply. The artist(s) will work with the community and stakeholders, and will incorporate the themes and color palette of the park in their mural design. The mural area is approximately 100’ x 50’. Three (3) finalists and one (1) alternate will be selected to create proposals. Artists will receive $1,000 for their proposal designs. One (1) proposal and one (1) alternate will be selected by the panel. The selected artist will receive a commission of $25,000 for the design, community engagement and installation of the mural.
