Museum Association of Arizona Annual Meeting
2013 Call for Proposals

Doubletree Hotel, Reid Park, Tucson AZ
May 1-4, 2013

You are invited to submit session, workshop and individual presentation proposals for the 2013 Museum Association of Arizona Annual Meeting. Do you and your colleagues have an innovative solution to a problem faced by many? Are you doing research that others should know about?

The MAA Conference Planning Committee welcomes proposals in areas of interest to the museum community from the small museum to the largest and from the basic to the complex for all levels of museum professionals.

If you have a great presentation idea, but don’t know who else is doing similar things, send it in and the committee will work to match you up with others

This year’s theme is Keeping Our Balance: Innovation and Tradition. Sessions proposals are encouraged that address how to build strong, progressive, and relevant institutions

by honoring tradition
by taking an enlightened look at status quo
by creating supportive environments where new ideas can be introduced
by developing and empowering leadership who can guide a process to implementation.

Practically speaking, this means taking advantage of the enthusiasm and energy of youth, acknowledging the wisdom and experience of older staff, being on the cutting edge of new technologies, and making our institutions places where respect and trust allow open debate.

Share what has worked well for you, both tried-and-true practices and your successful radical new ideas, as well!

More information and the Proposal Form is available on the MAA website.

Proposals are due January 15, 2013
