AZ Creative Communities: Barrio Stories In Barrio Anita

Over the course of a weekend in April 2018, Barrio Stories offered residents of Tucson’s historic Barrio Anita neighborhood an opportunity to gather, celebrate, and learn about their community through an immersive experience featuring large scale video projections, live music, shadow theatre, performed poetry, historical reenactment, heritage foods, and audio tours.

During our earliest discussions about Next50 in the summer of 2015, as we were working to define both the objectives and the spirit of this visionary planning initiative, we realized we needed an image. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and we believed that the right photograph could say more about Next50 than a dozen paragraphs.
