Community Cultural Inventories
Community Cultural Inventories (CCI) are tools to help towns, cities and counties gather information about existing cultural resources and about future opportunities within given communities. Trained consultants work with community leaders to determine the most effective plan in each case. Previous CCIs have collected information through surveys and/or public meetings with artists, arts organizations, government officials, business leaders, educators and other interested citizens. At the end of the project, the consultant produces a detailed written report that summarizes the collected information and provides recommendations for next steps. CCIs throughout Arizona have served as catalysts to create community cultural plans or effective local arts agencies. Any government entity or nonprofit organization that is prepared to lead the CCI process may contact the Arts Commission to discuss initiating a CCI in their area.
