About Globe

Population: 7,346

“My community is one in which everyone knows everyone. People here are very friendly and extremely giving when someone needs help. Having been part of many fundraisers, I have witnessed this personally. I think we take our community for granted by not realizing everything it has to offer. It takes someone from the outside to see the true beauty. We truly have so much to offer, from our historic downtown and Native American ruins to our trails and parks and rich history of mining. If you want a quiet and friendly place to visit without the craziness of the big city, then Globe is the place.”

Al Gameros, Mayor, City of Globe

Project

Building on resident engagement with the previously established “Globe Rocks” project, Team Globe facilitated an expansive storytelling project, led by young people, meant to increase understanding and help bridge social, racial, and generational divides in the community. Young Globe residents used high-quality video equipment, learned video editing methods, and practiced ethical interview techniques as they captured local stories and shared them at creative community events.
