In 1996, the Academy of American Poets established April as National Poetry Month. To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of this annual celebration of the poets and their work, the Arizona Commission on the Arts is throwing a spotlight on recent recipients of our Artist Research and Development Grant.

Announcing the Recipients of Artist and Research and Development Grants for Fiscal Year 2014
Last week, the Governor-appointed board of the Arizona Commission on the Arts awarded Artist Research and Development Grants to artists from across Arizona, practicing in a variety of artistic disciplines. This highly-competitive grant program awards funding to artists in support of project-related research and development. This year, 11 of 74 applicants were awarded $3,500.
