Summary:
The Education & Community Outreach Manager is primarily accountable for the leadership and management related to creating and growing opportunities for immersion in Ballet Arizona and School of Ballet Arizona programs including, but not limited to, program planning, development, delivery, analysis, budgeting, and evaluation. The position works closely with other departments, specifically the Artistic staff, School of Ballet Arizona, Marketing and Development and outside agencies for the purpose of reinforcing the Company’s position as a valuable and enduring asset to the greater Phoenix community. Work requires the exercise of considerable innovation and independent judgment.

Education and Community Outreach Responsibilities Include:
Conceptualizing, planning, implementing, and evaluating all existing and new community engagement programs and strategies in collaboration with management, artistic staff, and dancers. Major programs include: Student Matinees; Ballet Under the Stars; Class Act (multiple school sites); Ballet Arizona Speaking Engagements; Community Angel Nights; Pre-Performance & Post Performance Chats; Teaching/Coordinating Creative Aging Classes; Using evaluation methods to document success; Aiding Ballet Arizona execute business plans.

Developing innovative and appealing projects/activities for Ballet Arizona’s existing and new affinity groups, patrons and students, and working with the Marketing and Development departments to create and execute communications, marketing programs and outreach strategies for those activities.

Partnering with Development to compose, submit, secure, and report on state, city, and foundation grants, and corporate gifts for all education programs and School scholarships.

Enhance Ballet Arizona’s educational brand awareness through existing or new programs and working with the Marketing and Development departments to develop communications and marketing strategies for those activities.

Establishing and cultivating partnerships with Educational Institutions, have a working knowledge of Arts Integration, and the ability to teach dance classes to a wide range of populations. Must also utilize tools and skills for measuring program success.

Essential Skills and Experience:
– Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
– 5 or more years experience in dance, education and/or arts administration
– Proven record of financial management, budgeting and accountability
– Collaborative management style with proven success in a similar education leadership role
– Entrepreneurial leadership, problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and ability to excel in a high-performance culture
– Experience in grant writing and/or event management a plus
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
– Working knowledge of Classical Ballet
