Valley Youth Theatre (VYT) is a professional quality youth theatre for audiences of all ages in Phoenix, Arizona. We are seeking a seasoned marketing professional to promote and publicize the Valley Youth Theatre, its productions, programs and events – thus increasing the company’s attendance/participation and awareness.
Primary areas of responsibly: Paid Advertising; Public Relations/Publicity (Newsletter, Promotional/Collateral Materials, Web Site and Internet Marketing); Playbill; Promotional Events and Community Outreach.
The ideal candidate must possess excellent communication and creative writing skills, knowledge of non-profit performing arts, a strong sense of teamwork and expertise in budgeting, sales analysis and database management. The position requires a strong entrepreneurial spirit. The candidate will be highly motivated and results driven. Strong marketing, public relations, strategic planning, brand/product development, media relations, managerial and communications skills is a must. Proficiency in Adobe design programs (Illustrator, In Design and Photo Shop), Umbraco CMS, HTML and Constant Contact are required. Established relationships with key personnel within the Phoenix media market (micro-local and surrounding area) are essential. Desktop and website publishing skills a plus.
A bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, or marketing and three to five years of experience with nonprofits is desirable. Salary range: commensurate with experience.
