Scottsdale Arts was established in 1987 as a private, nonprofit 501(c)(3) and has evolved into an organization with four dynamic operating branches that span the visual and performing arts. Through its four branches, Scottsdale Arts offers diverse, high-quality arts experiences to hundreds of thousands of Scottsdale residents and visitors annually in addition to fostering the active engagement of government, business, education, and the private sector in the arts.

Summary of Position:

Are you looking to make an impact on diverse communities through artful learning experiences? Do you have a passion for the visual and performing arts? Do you have experience designing informal learning experiences for students, families, and adults? If so, then we are looking for you! Come join the Learning & Innovation department at Scottsdale Arts as the Community Engagement Coordinator.

Important Details to Know:

Compensation: Range $20-$25 DOE
Shift/Hours: 40 hours per week, some evenings & weekends
Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt, Benefits Available

Here is what you will get to do:

You will collaborate with teams across the organization to design community-focused, mission-based programming that engages and inspires diverse audiences through the arts.
You will put your creative spin on programs such as Second Saturdays, spark curiosity in students through field trips, and help visitors make meaning of exhibitions at SMoCA through SmART Space activities and gallery guides.
Most importantly, you’ll work with a functional team that values collaboration, creativity, and each member’s unique contribution.

Here is what you will need to be successful:

Bachelor’s Degree in related field; art, education, museum education, museum studies, or theater.
3+ years of related experience: adult education, teaching in classroom setting, arts administration, working with children.
Understanding of curriculum standards.
Strong organizational planning, research, creativity and problem solving skills
Strong communication skills both written and verbal including public speaking in small groups
Bonus if you possess the following:

Bilingual Skills
First Aid/CPR certification
Fingerprint clearance card
