WATERLINE: a demarcation line, a literal and metaphorical guage for the times we live in: a juried exhibition

Traditionally the WATERLINE was defined as the waterline length of a ship at the level it sits in the water. This measure is significant as it has to do with the length, draft, speed, weight and balance in ships.

WATERLINE the exhibition, can be an exploration or reflection of our current social, political, cultural and environmental landscape. Artworks may encompass the universal and/or the personal. As we grapple with the climate crisis in the west we are confronted by drought and rising temperatures and can literally see the “waterline” left behind in our depleted lakes and rivers. Metaphorically, WATERLINE is a demarcation line for what is visible and knowable above water and what is hidden and unknown below water.

Taken literally or metaphorically WATERLINE is an opportunity for broad interpretation. We look forward to your submissions on this topical subject matter. We welcome two dimensional and three dimensional work as well as video submissions.
