About SAACA
With funds generated through community support from individual donors, special event revenues, grants, and collaborative business partnerships, SAACA provides diverse engagement opportunities for artists, organizations, businesses, and individuals in the community. SAACA is committed to the economic and cultural development of Southern Arizona.

Each year the Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance provides more than 200,000 unique arts and cultural engagement opportunities for the community.

About the Makerspace
The new space will be located at the Tucson Mall (4500 North Oracle Road, Tucson, AZ, 85705) in a 14,000 square foot storefront that is currently under construction and renovated to suit the needs of the organization, and for use of the community.  The space will be a first of its kind development, housing over 20 arts and cultural disciplines and creative functions under one roof.

This center will serve as an active partner in the educational, economic and cultural life in Southern Arizona; inviting discovery, creativity, entrepreneurship and learning through collaboration.  Through its programs, the Arts and Cultural Center will be a vital part of the fabric of our region.

About the call for proposals
SAACA is anticipating a late-August opening for CATALYST, with programming in the arts and crafts studio running a minimum of two classes per day five days a week. We are currently gathering as much intel as possible on how artists and the community would like to use the studio; what classes the public would like to participate in and what classes our community of artists would like to teach. As part of this effort we are setting up a database of interested teaching artists. The below form will get you entered into that database from which programming decisions will be made. We will make invitations to artists registered in this database as teaching opportunities that fit their expertise and long term goals arise. Teaching artists should be able to provide SAACA with 2-3 professional references from either employers or past students if contacted for a teaching opportunity.
