Eligibility: All local and regional performers are welcome to apply.

Budget: $500–$2,000, with potential for negotiation.

Canal Convergence will be on view for 10 days, from November 8–17, 2019, along the Arizona Canal at the Scottsdale Waterfront. Scottsdale Public Art has chosen a number of artists to present their light-based public artworks in and around the canal. We are also seeking performers who can create site-specific pieces for the Arizona Canal relating to the theme of “The Story of Water” or in response to the canal, one of the artworks, or the event landscape, including the canal pathway, bridges, etc. Be creative! Any and all performers are encouraged to apply. Dancers and other types of performing artists are encouraged to apply.

· In your proposal, please tell us how you see your performance addressing Canal Convergence’s key themes: Water + Art + Light as well as this year’s focused theme of “The Story of Water.”
· Be creative! This is not limited to just dancers. We welcome all kinds of performances.

Artist participation is integral to Canal Convergence. Programming artists are expected to attend our Canal Convergence Launch Party and engage the Scottsdale community and its visitors throughout the scheduled event where applicable.

Please contact Jennifer Gill, Public Art Manager, at [email protected] for information about your application for Canal Convergence.

Coffee Talks
We will be hosting three Coffee Talks around the Valley to answer any questions about your proposals prior to submitting. These are informal workshops to talk with a Scottsdale Public Art administrator about your ideas. Just look for the table sign that says: “Canal Convergence.”
