The Chandler Arts Commission is looking for qualified artists or artist teams to create a shaded outdoor community and reception area that will link phase 1 and phase 2 of the Public Safety Training Center at 3550 S Dobson Rd, Chandler, AZ. The project area is roughly 20 feet wide by 128 feet long, and needs a shade structure with at least 10’ clearance height beneath all components. Additional possibilities that are preferred but not required include seating and ground treatment, budget permitting. The artist fee is up to $160,000 which will cover all design, materials, fabrication, transport, insurance, and any other artist fees associated with the project. The city will pay for engineering / structural review. Installation costs will be negotiated based on artist design.
