The St. Louis Artists’ Guild is looking for all media to feature in our upcoming national juried exhibition titled “For Every Negative There Is A Positive.” Juror Tom Huck is looking for work that features negative and positive space working in tandem to describe content and attitude.

For every negative there is a positive, for every action, there is a reaction, and for every balance, there is a counterbalance. We have been taught to “see” negative space to better define positive shape or form. How does negative and positive space work in tandem to describe the content and attitude of a work of art? For this exhibition, the St. Louis Artists Guild seeks submissions that explore these concepts either artistically, emotionally, socially or all of the above. Calls for entry are open to all media including but not limited to painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, video, performance, mixed-media, and installation.

Submission Deadline: June 27, 2018 (11:59pm)

Exhibition Dates: August 3, 2018 to September 15, 2018

Opening Reception, Awards, and Juror Discussion Friday: August 3, 2018, 6pm
