In 2006, when the Michelson Foundation changed its name to Aroha Philanthropies it also shifted its mission. Since then, Aroha has been “devoted to the transformative power of the arts and creativity, inspiring vitality in those over 55, joy in children and youth, and humanity in adults with mental illness.” In March 2016, Aroha unveiled a new microsite dedicated to the Creative Aging portion of their mission. Artful Aging gathers resources, news, and a comprehensive list of Creative Aging programs across the country.
