From May 3-4, 2016, 53 State and Jurisdictional champions, including Arizona’s own Hunter Hazelton, will descend on Washington, D.C. to vie for the title of Poetry Out Loud National Champion and a $20,000 award. For those unable to attend the event in person, a live, one-time only webcast is available online at www.arts.gov. The National Endowment for the Arts invites POL fanatics across the country to host their own national finals viewing party.

When to watch

The Poetry Out Loud Upper Northwest and West regional semifinals will take place on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, from 2 pm to 5 pm. Nine students (three from each regional semifinal) will advance to the National Finals on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 between 4:00 and 7:00 pm, to compete for the title of 2016 Poetry Out Loud National Champion.
