A Multimedia Work-in-Progress by Oliverio Balcells

“I’m working on a multimedia project with original music and images, is the story of a person that came from a different dimension and is trying to remember his symbols that were on his skin before he came to this life. The story would take place in the Valley of the Sun.”

Desert Awareness Committee’s Desert Reach Program

Our team of volunteers visits each fourth grade class in our desert foothills area to present this 90 minute hands on program. We recently wrote and published a book to go along with our program. It is the story of a 12 year old girl who learns lessons about life and dealing with bullies from some unusual friends she meets while lost in the desert.

“She Moved Through the Fair” by SoSco Duo

“The song has a haunting melody with lyrics that tell the story of a man and the woman he hopes to marry. Unfortunately, he ends up disappointed. Although it was originally written for voice, we believe the flute and guitar capture the melancholic beauty of the song. We present this to audiences to show how the music and stories of the past can still be relevant today.”
