A national recitation contest created by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Poetry Foundation, Poetry Out Loud invites the dynamic aspects of slam poetry, spoken word and theater into the English class. Through Poetry Out Loud, students can master public speaking skills, build self-confidence and learn about their literary heritage all while competing for scholarship prizes!
We are also pleased to announce the dates and locations for our regional and state-level finals, as well as the national finals in Washington, DC. This year, the Arizona Poetry Out Loud state finals will return to Arizona PBS and KAET studios in Downtown Phoenix!
