The deadline for 2017 Artist Research and Development Grants (ARDG) is Thursday, August 25, 2016. Are you ready? To help prospective applicants prepare their best application, beginning next week, the Arts Commission will be offering tips, resources, and training throughout the next six weeks.

ARDGs are designed to support individual artists from all disciplines in the development of artistic work, support the advancement of artistic research and recognize the contributions individual artists make to Arizona’s communities.As our only grant aimed specifically at supporting the work of individual artists, it’s also our most competitive.

Competitive Grant Writing for Artists

This free 3-hour workshop teaches participants the fundamentals of grant writing by exposing what funders and reviewers are looking for in an application. Using the ARDG application as a model, participants learn the essential components of a strong application as they play the role of reviewers in a mock grant review panel.
