Scottsdale Arts is seeking a full time Staff Accountant to perform a wide variety of accounting functions in support of the Accounts Receivable and Payroll function of the organization. The position is benefit eligible, with an excellent benefits package including medical, dental, vision, paid time off.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Under direction of supervisor)

Manages the processing of cash receipts, recording of revenue and receivable and works closely with the Development team to ensure that revenues and receivables are reconciled with Tessitura data at any given time.
Manages the processing of all invoicing for accounts receivable.
Responsible for all payroll functions including input of time, reconciliation of accounts, posting to the general ledger, and benefits integration. Integrates payroll process with outside vendor. Verify and prepare payroll processes.
Answers questions from staff and vendors regarding payroll process, including time and attendance tracking.
Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
Performs the processing of functional and benefits expense allocations, monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, fixed assets depreciation and recording of adjusting and reclassification journal entries, if necessary.
Assists the Controller with the day-to-day, monthly and year-end operations of the Accounting/Finance Department including grant management, budget review and analysis.
Performs other duties as required

Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field.

Experience: Minimum 3 years experience in nonprofit accounting.

Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos.
Work Environment: Normal office environment. Majority of day spent on computer using fingers to key in information. Specific vision requirements needed to perform job. May lift up to 20lbs, and may be required to stoop on occasion to reach filing cabinets and supplies.

Must possess valid driver’s license and driving record which is acceptable to the organization’s insurance carrier.
